Entering the Health Field
Erica always knew she wanted to work in the medical field. She first attended Clark University in Atlanta to earn her bachelor’s degree in biology. She then continued on to Drexel University to earn a master’s degree in public health. After, she started medical school but soon realized it wasn’t what she wanted to do.
A Second Path
Many of Erica’s friends were nurses, and this influenced her decision to attend nursing school at the University of Memphis. After earning her bachelor’s degree, she went on to earn her master’s in nursing to become a nurse practitioner.
Erica and her husband returned to Memphis from New York, where they’d been living, while she considered what to do next.
Many of Erica’s patients had talked about how great chiropractic made them feel, and it made her interested in finding out more.

Erica enjoys learning from Dr. James and working with the rest of our team in treating the body as a whole instead of separate systems. She knew from her studies that every system of the body is connected and enjoys the holistic, natural care given to our patients at Dr. Alan James. We’re focused on finding the root of your problem to improve your quality of life.
